English Names: Full name (nickname)

Men:

Richard (Rick, Ricky)
John (Johnny)
Michael (Mike, Mikey)

Women:

Elizabeth (Beth, Liz, Liza or Betty)
Mary (no nickname)
Linda (Lin)
Patricia (Pat, Patty)

Is it also true that in Japanese there is a whole separate language for women? I read this someplace.
