Ramen noodles are junk. I hate to say that because I ate my fair share in college. I mean who wouldn't love something you could buy for a quarter and put pour boiling water into and ... voila! ... instant meal.

The problem is that they are extremely high in refined, high-glycemic carbs which spike your blood sugar levels and cause you to be hungry and hour later (the "Chinese Food Syndrome.") They are also stripped of most of the nutrients present in whole grain flours. The noodles are made with plain white flour, which is overly refined.

Also, they are wicked high in sodium. A serving contains 750 mg of sodium, which is about 1/3 of your daily recommended intake in one single meal.

They are also too low in protein.

You would be better off with something canned like "Healthy Choice" or Campbells Reduced-Sodium soups. Or even better, learn how to make your own homemade soups like chicken noodle or chili, which is very healthy and inexpensive, especially since you'll have enough leftovers to last you a week.

Best of luck!

It is not especially fattening but it is high in sodium. Try adding more variety to your diet. There is no substitute for balance, variety, and moderation as there is no 'perfect' food.

It's not the best. It's loaded with sodium and made with white noodles. I don't touch it.
