I like to feel somewhere different. The architecture of the East is older than the ones of the West (U.S.A.). I like city parks, rivers, walking on bridges, hills (you see the picture), big buildings with special architecture, using a ferry, the metro ...

Is there others sections of N.Y. C. where I could feel different of what is on Manhattan and obviously less attracting the tourists?

My friend, there are five boroughs in New York City. There are Manhattan, The Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island. When most people think of New York City, they think of Manhattan. Most of the tourist attraction are in Manhattan, but there some attraction in the other four boroughs.

-The Bronx is famous for Yankee Stadium and the Bronx Zoo.

-Queens, home to Silver Cup Studios, Shea Stadium, USTA Tennis Center and World Fair Grounds at Flushing Meadow-Corona Park.

-Brooklyn, "The Borough of Churches," because there are more churches for every denomination in the Brooklyn than any other city on Earth. Brooklyn is also home to Coney Island Beach and Amusement Park, which is currently closed for the winter.

and finally

-Staten Island, with its old town feel, you will be wondering if you're NYC or in small town America.

So, to answer you question, "Is there only Manhattan in NYC?" The answer is no, this city has five boroughs and 8.5 million people.

Brooklyn, especially the Heights, Downtown Bk. (the area most similar to Manhattan), and "dumbo" (a made up neighborhood, but regardless the area between the two bridges)

Queens is a great place to live, but outside of baseball season I don't know why anyone would want to visit. If you're into art you'd probably like the PS1 museum, and theres a good seafood/steak/italian restaraunt nearby that's not too expensive, the Crabhouse, 2-03 Borden Ave, right by the river (end of Borden).

In OC, you have to drive to go anywhere. A Car is a must. In NY, a car is sometimes a nuscence as you can't find parking, and parking is expensive, but you may need your car sometimes You can walk/subway to almost anywhere you want. Single family homes are super expensive and not common. Some apartments don't even have elevators. It's a lot colder, wet. Must more faster paced. You are young, take some risks.. go live in different places, get out of your comfort zone. You can always move back.

No. . .there is also Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island & The Bronx. Each are unique in their own way. Manhattan, however, is a very special place--if you only had a few hours or days to be in NYC. . .then Manhattan would be your best choice to focus on.
