I ate a carrot today and I didn't lose the 30lbs I was hoping for.
When do I feel the pounds falling off?
Do diets ever work, I can't stand the wait, its been like 3 hours and I havent even lost 1 pound.
If your serious with your question, then what your really asking for will be answered at the proper time. If you ask for a million dollars, your really probably searching for financial success becaus you believe it will fill a void and you go to God with a "lack of money" God gives you back an abundace of what you came with. Chances are you'll only have more money problems, but then you'll learn that you had plenty when you insitially asked. Try going to God with Thanks and see what happens.
If your not serious with you question than you'll see how ignorant my statement was and how similar it was to yours.
I hope this was not what you were going for and if it was, then I wish you the ability to find True Peace. I pray that someone in your life takes the time to show you Love and open your heart to see the Beauty in Life and the Love of Jesus your Savior. The one who was sacrificed for You, whether you wanted it or not, it happend so that comments like yours can be forgiven later on when you realize the Truth and how hurtful you use to be.
Peace & Love

This is an extremely individual issue.
It is dependent on personal development and personal relationship... At first, we really just follow the routine by rote. More and more, you'll see things around you that are answers to your prayers.
Such as, (in my case) having things you've been praying about addressed in a sermon or in discussions around you.
I'm not sure what you want to feel, but just knowing and recognizing such things being done in your life can be God's response; and, I believe, often is.
More and more, God reveals Himself to people; not everyone hears a literal voice or something when they pray. It's all dependent on you and Him. It works on your time and His. In time, we all see how He communicates with us.

I have a question: have you been reading The Bible? In His word, Jesus says that if two or more together are gathered in His name, His spirit is there. I'm not saying you should give up on praying on your own, but try to gather some fellow Christians to pray with you, I'll be praying too.
(I know i assumed your christian, but it works the same way for other religions)

You mean between asking questions, I assume.
I suggest you change tack and try meditating. Take one of the stories in the bible. the story of Zacchaeus (Luke 19) is a good one to start with. Read the story slowly and then picture it. Think of characters in it, Zacchaeus first and then perhaps a person in the crowd, and how they might have felt.
You might then feel something in response.

Psalm 13:1,5
1 How long, O LORD ? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
5 But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation
Psalm 5: 1-3
1 Give ear to my words, O LORD,
consider my sighing.
2 Listen to my cry for help,
my King and my God,
for to you I pray.
3 In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait in expectation.
You are sounding like David. Don't worry God will answer, in His time.

Real prayer is a constant state of mind. If you stay in a state of prayer in all your everyday life, you will see and hear Jesus/God all around you.
And remember, regardless of what you're asking for, sometimes the answer is simply "No." No is an answer too.

Based on the fact that you are searching for God by posting this question, I know that God is going to show himself to you. Don't give up hope, it's going to come sooner than you think. "Seek and you shall find, ask and it will be given to you"

Sometimes getting something you want depends on weather it is the best for you or not, that is where the term, GOD KNOWS BEST comes from. Keep on praying, be ppositive about your wish and see yourself having it and as long as it is not something about vengeance than you may just get it, if it is meant to be!
