I am interested in working for the Miami Dade Police Department and I have a couple of questions:

-How do I become a Homocide Detective?
-As a detective would I participate in arrests?
-Would I work many cases?
-Salary?
-Would It be an Exciting Carrer?
-Could I start as a plain clothes officer?

You will not start in plain clothes.

All new officers start out in patrol. This is where you learn the basics that you will need to build on later. After you prove yourself in patrol, you can be eligible for reassignment to the detective division.

The promotion/reassignment process is quite competitive, and they will take into account your seniority, work ethic, your personnel records, and quite possibly a written test and oral interview.

These positions are heavily sought after and competitive.

As far as the actual work, your case load would probably be as much as you can handle. The salary is probably negotiated through a union. You may participate in arrests on scene, but if a warrant is issued they would probably send a uniformed team.

To become a detective, you will need to be hired on as a police officer. You will start off in uniform, working patrol for the first three to five years (minimum). During this time, you will be learning about law enforcement. You cannot be an effective investigator without knowing how to be a cop.

Don't put the cart before the horse. If you don't want to work patrol, don't become a cop.

If all things are equal then your military experience will help you but will not guarantee anything. The police are looking for the best of the best. It will certainly help you to get your degree to have something to fall back on if you are not hired since a very small percentage of those who apply for jobs in law enforcement are actually hired.
