People with AS fall all along the IQ scale just like any other segment of the human population, but it is true that the IQ "bell" tends to shift slightly towards the higher intelligence side of the IQ scale for people with AS.

High functioning autistics are those with mild autistic symptoms and are not necessarily AS. They may or may not have high IQs.

Yes, it is

It is also important to know that there are many types of intelligence as well, that people have, not just those IQ Tests that you get. John Paul Robinson is a perfect example of addressing this in his book about his life that he spent, undiagnosed with Aspbergers Syndrome until recent years(He somehow was a smart, cool, guy, in terms of mechanics, making the Rocket Guitars for KISS and toys for children, yet he couldn't make it to college and had kinks in his communications with others)

Either way, he addresses the fact to kids and people with the condition that there can be a way for many of you to have a healthy, positive life with it, albeit different from others. If I could find his blog, I think I would give it to you.

Certainly. It's also possible to be highly intelligent in some areas and average in others. Standard IQ tests measure both logical and emotional intelligence, so they don't give a real accurate picture for someone with AS.

Yes, because not all autistic people are geniuses. Some autistic people like Bill Gates are geniuses, but others have either an average intelligence, or some unfortunately are retarded, and or may not be able to speak. So it all depends, and the symptoms vary on the autistic spectrum.

Yes, I do. Most with Asperger's do. It is a common misconception that we are all geniuses.
