Yes and No.
Most of the times our subconscious mind is telling something first and then our subconsicous mind turned into something into fear or desire and vent it out in dream.
Got your email about 6 years old meeting 60 years old and having a 20 year old son. That has something to do with your childhood. And from there you projected to the future. In other words, something may have happened in your childhoold, so in your dream you projected the future what it should be and how it should be, to some it is premonition. Recently I have similar experience.
One day, I came back from the car shop and felt the vibration from my car. My subconscious mind is feeling unease, so I dreamed about screwing it tight somewhere bottom of my car, after that dream completes, I slept through the night. The next morning, my car still had vibration and I was looking around and realized one of my nuts from my tires was missing and all others were loose. I immediately brought it back to the shop to have it fixed. (That is similar to the dream.. screw back in tight and have it fixed .. but different area of the car though)
Sometimes when we listen to our dream, our subconscious mind, we will know that predicting the future basically based on past experience

Yes, there are those who do have dreams of premonition. I think that most of us do on some level. Some people just remember in more detail than others. You see, our energy has no beginning and no end....so what you are actually seeing is something that you had witnessed before in another reality......

Dreams are usually symbolic but it's possible for them to be premonitions because your subconscious picks up on a lot of stuff your conscious mind doesn't.

Yes i have them too, but my dreams have a different meaning from what i actually see in them so i have to interpret them which i do. :) Heres an example: I had a dream about my Koro(grandfather in Maori)and he was on this big black bus with the silver fern on the back, i was at a gas station down by Wellington and he went past and waved, on this bus were rugby players but not the All Blacks, anyway, the next day we were going to Rotorua to my cousins 18th and when i got there i told my aunty to which my suprise she said to me "Guess who is coming today"? I told my Koro my dream and he told me that he had just return from travelling down south with his local rugby team in a big bus that was black, see the thing is i hadnt seen him in years and when i had the dream i thought he was sick and it worried me until i saw him. Listen to your dreams always!! :)

If dreams were as accurate at predicting the future, don't you think there would have been a company that popped up selling something to help you "Make money in Stocks" or Make-Money by telling the future!", or what ever!
You might learn what you desire, what you want, what you fear, who you like or dislike, ...period!
