Here is a recipe for my favorite Christmas cookie. It sounds like it might be similar to the Pepperidge Farms Wedding Cakes.

Russian Tea Cakes

1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
1 cup butter, softened
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts
1/4 tsp. salt
More powdered sugar for rolling cookies.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a large mixing bowl beat powdered sugar, butter and vanilla until light and fluffy. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. Stir in flour, nuts and salt. Mix until dough forms. Shape into 1" balls and place one inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 for 15-20 minutes or until set but not brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheets. Cool slightly, roll in powdered sugar. Cool completely. Re-roll in powdered sugar.
