If anything is truly the "anti-christ" it is fear. Any religion or organization that utilizes fear (manipulation, control of free will) to create a following, a data base, or structured organization should be thoroughly researched rather than blindly adopted through cultural or familial practice. If you feel the need to go to church out of a sense of unworthiness, lack, guilt, defeat, failure, hopelessness (FEAR BASED EMOTIONS) and/OR are following a religious structure that restricts your free will and ONLY ALLOWS room for their rules and doctrine, it is questionable at best.

I don't go to church to sooth my fear or my guilt, though God used those things at one time to bring me to an understanding of my need for a Savior... my fear of Hell finally pulled me into church, and I'm very thankful for that. Since then, I have begun to understand that the church is a loving and nurturing family that encourages me to get to know my Savior Jesus better. They love me, support me and my familiy... and have been a vital part in teaching me the basic tennants of my faith. I am very thankful for my church... and I believe that anyone who will truly give a genuine bible believing church a chance with an open and willing heart will find the same thing that I have.

You have an interesting theory. I go because this is my day of rest and reflection on things of church, family, and country. I also go because I need to get another slant on the scriptures, an interpretation that I had not thought of previously. Also when many are gathered together in His name, Christ promised that He would be there. It is good to pray together.

I choose to go to church to build my relationship with Jesus. There is no guilt or fear in my relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ God Almighty

Umm....my church does not use worry or guilt to make me beleive. i do no longer understand what church you pass to, yet mine does not try this. in certainty, our little biblical studies e book that we've been utilising had a lesson titled "upward push from worry".

Yes, to all of that and more. But I was raised that way. I'm in a totally different religion now. But we are still under that type of thinking, if you ask me.

going to church has nothing to do with faith. It's just a building, you can worship, praise and learn about God our whatever you believe in, in your own home, or wherever you please.
