I too have had this problem off and on for my entire adult life. I have gone 4 years attack free and then boom I have one and the who crazy cycle begins again often lasting a year or two. I can say that exhausting exercise does help considerably I find if I work out to a sweat and exhaustion once a day I do much better. I would suggest to you buying an elliptical machine and using it daily. What med's are you taking? An SSRI? or just xanax or ativan? Have you tried BUSPAR? you might also look in to INDERAL it is a cardiac medication but it is now being used to treat anxiety and keeps your heart rate low so it won't race

I am single mum. I have been suffering for panic attacks for some 15 years now, though it was not until recently I understood what they were. They were progressively getting stronger and more frequent, stopping me from some days even leaving my house. I read this book and it all made perfect sense.

I am not saying I was not terrified of putting theory to action, I was more scared of that than the next attack! But I decided to view it as a game, one I had control of and could therefore not lose!

It's mind over matter here, in other words you can control your thoughts.

Begin to look at what you are thinking when they start, stop yourself and ask; is this a rational thought. Most likely, it isn't. Therefore, you can now start thinking rational thought instead of what you are thinking when the attack started.

It takes work, but you can do it. Also, have you had counseling? You need to find out why this all started, usually attacks have a starting point, a point of reference that would be helpful to find out.

when i did drugs I had those paranoid attacks , it took a year of
stopping them to get over it , the best thing is go to the gym
because it will build confidence also chill out with some people
and have some beers and relax, also dont take those medications they give you like anti anxiety anti depressant
cuz those can mess with your brain more , i mean look at that
idiot who shot up the mall in omaha the cops say he was on
anti depressants.

Deep Breathing, every few hours...the best remedy

& one thing that removed my anxiety attacks almost immiditaely was removing caffeine from my diet religiously, I now only have decaf tea/coffee & avoid colas & anything with caffeine. (even strong chocolate sometimes). ot might take a few days to take effect but it does help.

Also, I used crystal therpay, if you're interested please email me. I can recommned a crystal.

You did everything right, sometimes the symptoms of anxiety are associated with too much caffeine. Try cutting down on your caffeine intake and see if you feel more relaxed. And good luck.
