I'm Catholic and that would only make them try to sell more. Just tell them that you don't hold the same beliefs that they do but you are a good person, and being one you have told them politely that you are not interested many times and they dont seem to get the hint and you feel it has now became very pushy and near the harrasment line. Tell them that the next time they visit you, that you will be calling the police and getting a restraining order. Tell them you dont want to do that but you dont know what else you can do. Then if they come back. they are dumb, and CALL THE POLICE. and maybe get a lawyer involved. at least you will end up with some peace and money :) good luck getting the overly fanatical bible beaters out!!

Get a "no solicitor" sign for your door. Since they're selling something, continuing to knock on your door would be illegal.
If they keep coming back (even if they aren't selling something) then they are being harassing. I'm not sure there's anything legal you can do, but don't feel compelled to be polite. I'd say something like "This is the eighth time I've said I'm not interested. This is incredibly rude. Goodbye," and close the door.

I quit answering my door a few years ago.
All my friends call me before they come over. The only people showing up at my doorstep wanted to sell me something, ask me to vote for them, or push their religion.
I figure that I pay the mortgage and taxes on this house and I can answer the door, or not, as I decide. They found their way to my front door, they can find their way back to the road.
Added advice:
I use my caller ID on the telephone. If it says "toll free", "unknown name/unknown number", "blocked", etc. I don't answer it. If, by chance, it is someone I need to talk to they will leave a message and I can call them back.
It is very freeing.

tell them U just crossed over last week.. then say praise jahova or whoever they want. or act real crazy... like dont talk in a normal voice yell the whole time. Perhaps you can pretend to have a dog and be petting the imaginary dog. Tell them you are from the planet orianomo and as an alien you know all about what they are talking about. pretend to have terrets... that would be fun.

This is actually legal! (if they ahve a liscence which people like this usually do!)
-You can start by not answering the door
-Is it the same people? because if it is, you can tell them that you strongly believe in the ______ (catholic or w.e u believe in) faith and that you will not switch over...and to STOP bothering you!!!!!!!!
-if it is different people....tell them that you have already been confronted numerous times by other people and you will not change what you believe in, and to please stop coming door to door
-DONT ANSWER THE DOOR
you really cant do much if it is different people
you can put a sign on your door saying that you strongly believe in the "catholic" faith and that you do not wish to change that
or something like that and hopefully they will get the message and LEAVE YOU ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i no its annoying but theres not too much you can do about it! :)
GOOD LUCK ! :)

You can do what my uncle did, he acted like he had a crazy accent and pretended not to know English and then shut the door (acting like he didn't understand what the hell the people were trying to tell him...)
Or one of my friends, she was 12 at the time...but if you look like a kid just say, I'm not sure I have to ask my mom but she's upstairs taking a dump...

Put a sign on your door that says "No Solicitors". And if they come back, file a complaint and press charges.
They can BELIEVE that "No Solicitors" applies to them all they want. But I think the law has a different opinion.

My father is in the kitchen tlaking to some now. he doesn't know how to say no. . . Ironic that this question came up. They asked me if read their book and I said no and walked back into my room. if my father wasn't talking to them, I would tell them to "Stop coming to my door." Seriously your getting annoying. They should respect people's privacy. Don't be so polite.

You are not being forceful enough. Tell them that they are not to visit you again or you will have the police speak to them.
Put up a very explicit "No Solicitation" sign over your door
