I am in a serious relationship with my boyfriend and I don't think its going to work out. We've been dating for 8 months and are very close. I just dont feel the fire like I once did. Does anyone know how to let a guy go as easy as possible?

I dated a guy for over a year--in fact he was my former boss. What I did, was hint that I was interested in other men in general, and hanging out watching movies with my next door neighbor, and that AA (alc anon) was taking up more of my time.

After about 2 months of that, I told him, "I want to date someone else" and he knew it was my next door neighbor, but that was pretty much the end of it. So,

I guess,

get busy--and do other stuff. Like bowling.

BTW, I know the feeling of loss--I couldn't stand this guy's domestic sloppiness, even though we spent about 8 terrific months together. Make a list of what you like and don't like about him, for yourself (don't make it too harmful) and then, when he's beyond drunk and pleading for you to take him back, treat him like a good friend, but one that you can't sleep with.

BTW--I dated the next door neighbor guy for almost 2 years after that; we are still friends. And me and the ex-boss are still friends.

Tell him the truth. The spark you felt before is no longer there and you like him better as being only a friend.

right sooo its easier to get rid of someone than find what is wrong and fix it ---- if you are so anxious to get rid of him tell him to his face that there is no longer a spark and its over --- in the long run it will be kinder and less painful than beating about the bush
