In our house, allowance isn't your "pay" for doing your chores. It is a reward for going above and beyond what you are REQUIRED to do, and do things just to be helpful and show appreciation for all we do as parents. My kids, aged 8 and 6 have regular chores: Keeping their rooms tidy, cleaning off the table after dinner, making sure the cat has fresh water every day, and making sure all their homework gets done. These are things they have to do regardless of allowance. In addition to that, we reward them when they do things like offer to help with other chores, pick up without being asked to do so, be nice to each other (no arguing or fighting), or just generally being extra good. We've given them anywhere from 50 cents to 5 dollars in a week depending on what they've done.

I'm grown now.
But when I was young I did lots of chores. My pay was a roof over my head and food on the table. Want to get paid? Get a job!

Ha! Paid? What's that?...I take care of a home and a three year old...and sometimes a 36 year old husband! When you're a grown up they don't call them "chores" anymore...they're called responsibilities!

i have to clean a 2 story House and i don't get paid my dad seed i was born to be his made and as long as I'm living under his House then i do what he tells me

My kids get $5 for them. They have to do dishes, clean bathroom, sweep floors, clean dog poo, clean their rooms, put clothes away, set, clear and wash table after dinner wash countertops and stove, dust

My friend gets $50 a month as long as her room is tidy!

Clean my room, clean bathroom, pick up crap, and dats pretty much it. i never do it though, but i still get paid 20 dollars every week!!!:)
