They are looking for drugs, not alcohol. They may not even check you alcohol level.
But, to be safe, your body eliminates approximately one beer per hour, so if you stop drinking 12 hours before your test, you will be safe.

I would not drink the 12 pack tonight, just to be on the safe side. Alcohol would probably metabolize quicker than other drugs but: you only burn something like 2-4 ounces of alcohol per hour. A drug test or blood test depends on several things: A) time(how long since you last used marijuana, alcohol, amphetimine sulphate, etc.)
B) How touchy or fine tuned the particular alcohol or drug test is: some are quite 'touchy' and will register positive for example, diazepam, even though two(valiums) were taken 30 days earlier. Other tests are not nearly so touchy. C) keep in mind tolerance has nothing to do with it, the fact you can hold your liquor has nothing to do with how fast it metabolizes C) The FREQUENCY of usage....If you drink quite often(daily, 2 to 3 times a week) it will probably show in your UA, blood test, etc.
D) Finally, how bad do you want the job? Its not my role to preach, but can't you watch football tonight and not drink? You will have a kajillion other opportunities to drink in your life.
Good luck.,
Dave

You should have the alcohol out of your system by 5:00am if you stop drinking by 9:00pm.
Is drinking a 12 pack the night before starting a new career wise? No.
Any more than two drinks a day is considered alcohol abuse and the people you will be dealing with on a daily basis 3/4 of them are alcoholics and you are not being a good example.
So drop the booze and hit the gym and get a grip on your life before it trips you up.

Whu risk it all and take a chance on failing the drug test and not becoming what you want? Maybe you really dont want to be a peace officer as much as you think you do if youre willing to risk it allover a few beers? The most youll do is give them an excuse that they can eliminate you with. This definitely doesnt show good judgement ad with judgement like this, I just hope I dont have to work with you. Not impressive

i really don't think it's a good idea to drink at all the night before a big job interview (in this case test). if you can't go one night without a drink, i wouldn't hire you. and i can tell if you drank a half rack last nite. don't get me wrong, i like my beer too. but there's a time and place for everything.
