ASVAB is a military placement test.

It determines if you are bright enough to learn what they are going to be teaching you. It also sets the guidelines for witch types of military training you will qualify for.

It is the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. It is either an 8 or 9 part test. The 9 part test is used for military enlistees to determine what career field they would do well in. The 8 part test is given in High Schools as a career guidance tool.

That would be the Armed Services Vocation Aptitude Battery.
Its like the SAT/ACT only its a test the US Military administrates.
