Chad is right. It's the same digital signal. Buy an HDMI to DVI cable. However that will only take care of the vido portion. You'll need to get the sound over there. Your TV should have standard audio jacks too. Does the PS3 have those? If so, you'll need audio (L+R) cables.

To the best of my knowledge, a TV without an HDMI connector cannot be used for the highest (1080p) resolution. Therefore, and I hope I'm wrong, you might very well need to replace your television to take full advantage of your gaming console.

The PS3 is a Blu ray -based device that will permit gaming at 1080p.

Adapters exist for DVI-HDMI and Component-HDMI -but- that will simply allow you to physically connect the cable. I can't imagine how it will affect the native resoultion capability of the TV set itself.

You can buy a DVI-HDMI cable that would work. Most electronic stores or a Radio Shack will have them.
