To be honest, USDA requires that all pups stay with mom until at least 6 weeks of age. Larger breeds are easier to transform to new homes at this age, smaller breeds should wait another 2 weeks or so.

But even still, this pup is too young to be running loose around your infant.

if he's 7 weeks old, he may be viewing your son as another "littermate" and snuggling with him like he would with his own siblings.. he likes the warmth of your son's body heat.

It is bonding tho too.. and he may become protective. Do not leave them alone unattended tho! Dogs and Children can be great friends if they are both taught how to appropriatly interact with each other.

It takes time to teach them both.. your pup may get too rough trying to play, and can knock your son over when he gets bigger and goes thru his big puppy stage. Young children may try to use the dog to pull themselves up when they learn to crawl and walk.. toddlers can also sometimes be mean to pets, because they are still learning that other people and animals have feelings and feel pain too.

Play it safe and supervise all interactions with them.. this will assure a good relationship between the two of them.

nicely for one i do no longer understand who you obtain carry of a 7 week old domestic dog as its unlawful to sell a pupy until eventually they're 8 weeks old..yet attempt taking her in a gentle comfortable canine mattress upstairs and putting it down next on your mattress so she has the reasurrance of being with somebody, idraly the breeder could have given you a toy, blanket that has the fragrance of the mum on it for her to take along with her, that woule have calmed and comfortable her, you cant depart a domestic dog to sleep interior the laundry. It desires a appropriate canine mattress, and despite the fact which you do no longer take her and positioned her on your mattress at 7 weeks old she wont have a clue the place she is and if she have been to fall off would desire to brake her legs. if your mattress room is upstairs then make effective your door is close and maintains to be close jointly as she is in there because of the fact the same applies to the stairs. i think of you've gotten however extra thorughouly until eventually now you obtain this domestic dog ause of course you arent prepared to offer up a nights sleep whilst its a youthful domestic dog been taken faraway from its mom for the 1st time. The breeder probable could have additionally seperated her variety her mom faster if she became advertising her because of the fact she has no understand-how of any independance now. shes been taken from her mom TOO youthful and previous immediately onto a complete stranger. Disgusting in my opinion tbh. yet good success besides

The pup is using your child as a pillow. Please keep in mind that children are not capable of understanding how to safely interact with a dog. Keep them seperated when unattended until your child is at least five years old.

In 2000, in Los Angeles, a four-pound Pomeranian killed an infant it was napping with on a bed.

The pup should've stayed with its mom and littermates until at least 8 weeks.
It's not protecting your son, probably just likes the body heat, like lying with another pup. I'd be very careful, their teeth and nails are very sharp. Not that the pup would intentionally hurt your son, but it could happen.

Any animal should not be so close to an infant.

Your dog may be the most wonderful dog in the world, even if he is a puppy, BUT he is still an animal and could turn on a child in an instant.

Take no chances!

It means the poor puppy is too young to be away from it's mom and littermates and like something small and warm to lay with!!!

7 weeks is too young to be given away. He's probably just trying to curl up to something warm and safe.
