If that's what you want, then that's what you serve. Nothing wrong with it at all. Although you will have many naysayers here who tell you it's not appropriate or formal enough, I'd be willing to bet anything they'd be the first in line to eat if they were invited.
I don't turn down pizza and I don't know anyone who does either.

Hi Shelby:
I do not judge others, but I take it you are very young if you think pizza and Subway would be good to serve at your reception.
How many guests do you expect? And will there also be dancing, etc.?
Even if you have a very small budget (which many, many couples do), I think you can do better than pizza and Subway. First of all, ordering pizzas and Subway for ?? amount of people WILL NOT be cheap.
If you like Italian (and I do!), why not just do an Italian theme.
~ Make up a tossed salad;
~ Serve lasagne and baked ziti (here is an easy recipe for baked ziti):
http://southernfood.about.com/od/pastabake/r/bl30326b.htm
~ and any other "Italian dishes" that you can think of.
~ Serve with Italian bread or garlic bread and you are done!
OR....If this is an "afternoon" type of wedding and reception....you can always make it a "dessert only" reception. Serve cake (of course)...some bars (like brownies, lemon bars, 7-layer bars, cream cheese bars), maybe a fruit tray (for those who do not like sweets), some punch and coffee!! This CAN ONLY work, however, if your reception would be for a short time....say 2-5 (after lunch and before dinner)...otherwise, if at any other time, you DO need to serve something more substantial.

Yanno you could do a lot with this. I'd would do mini personal pizzas for everyone or like the bagel bite type things. Bite size. I would looove to go to a wedding that served pizza lol I'm really picky and usually don't ever eat anything.
But remember this is YOUR day. Do what you want if it's a super formal wedding then try to make it look somewhat classy if you can. The bite sized stuff would help with that.
Subway would be fine too since a lot of weddings usually serve from meat and cheese trays.

Its your wedding, go crazy! My boyfriend and I have actually been looking at 2 places where I live that do banquets, and do gourmet pizza. That might be kind of cool, who doesn;t like pizza?
And fi you;re having a less formal wedding, ro something with an outdoor reception, that would be fun!

I really hope you are joking. I, as a guest, would be insulted to go to a reception and find pizza and subway. Even if you are having it at a home you can find a decent caterer at a reasonable price.

Of course. It is your wedding. Make sure to have fork and knives for the pizza, because some people might want to cut theirs if they are wearing nice clothes (so they don't spill).

Have whatever YOU'RE favourite food is. If the guests don't like it they have no right to moan, You're a princess for the day and you should do whatever it takes for you to be happy. Congratulations Babe and have a great wedding!

depending on how formal your wedding is - if it's very casual - then you can possibly pull it off - but even then i wouldn't go for it
shop around for local pizzaria's or restaurants:
I know for 25-30 people my local pizzaria makes:
chicken (any style), salad, fries, potato salad and some other side for about $120 and in addition to this you can make some food on your own - ziti, lasagna, casserole, and a bunch of veggies and possibly one or two other meats
GOOD LUCK
