This is a remark made in the R&S section, it made me laugh wryly and I thought it might amuse you too. The remark was part of a question and wasn't directed at anyone in particular:
'If Jesus could see what you'd all done to Christianity, I think he would cry.'
I think someone hasn't received proper religious education lessons...
Anyway, just thought it might raise a smile :)

B - it is not true. Jesus never knew Christianity, it didn't develop until after his death, remember? Jesus was a practising Jew and if by some bizarre chance he returned, he would cry - with laughter - at the way he's been deified. You don't seem to appreciate the humour inherent in the statement I repeated....

HIT - no, I don't need to 'remember' this because as I made clear, I am Jewish. Next time perhaps you'll bother to read the post rather than just preaching.

HIT - no, Jesus was not of David's line. And he was crucified by the Romans. Get your facts straight. I think you'd be happier in R&S. You aren't going to convince or convert anyone in the Israel forum - give it up already!

I agree totally with you on this one, as I think modern day Christianity has been hijacked from the Hebrew religion in the first place.
What developed after Jesus was put to death by jealous priests or the wicked priests, is that Jesus was a Jew and not a Christian in the first place. His supposedly ministry developed from Greek introduction theism.
Makes you wonder at times and did the Hebrews pinch the building blocks for the bases of their religion, from well publicised Sumer religion of the God Marduk, who was well established 3,000 years BC by the cuneiform tablets expressing the same theory.
Albeit, what about Mosses introduction, was it based on the well trodden world of the Egyptian Gods.
Marvellous history isn't it and I am still learning about the old ways of past civilisations who have left a footprint or two around the world and it is great to be free from the dogma of the past restrictions of life.

Yeah it actually made me smile but like B I think he will cry when he sees what they did. Whethere Jesus was Jewish or Christians, he came to spread love, peace and a message to ask people to whorship G-d. Christians interpreted his message wrongly so if he comes and sees what they did to his name and to his message, he will cry.
By the way, why did you delete the Jokes you posted?
I saw them and read them but when I was replying to you and I clicked submit answer, I got a message saying that you deleted the question. I liked the Jokes.
Peace

Reminds me of a Christmas card I saw several years ago. Sort of a cartoon version of Noah's Ark, loaded up with a bunch of smiling giraffes, elephants, and monkeys. And in the midst of all these animals was Santa Claus!
Believe it or not, some people saw nothing odd in this. Typical comment: "Well, just because they were in a boat, doesn't mean they couldn't celebrate Christmas."

Maybe what the person meant was what Ghandi said:
"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." -- Mahatma Gandhi
Anyway, it did raise a smile. Here's a joke for you:
Four rabbis engaged in theological arguments, and it was always three against one. Finally, the odd rabbi out appealed. "God!" he cried. "I know I am right! Please, a sign to prove it to them!" Suddenly, from a sunny day, it poured. "A sign from God! See, I'm right" The other three disagreed, saying storms often cool hot days. So again: "Please, God, a bigger sign!" Lightning slammed a tree. "Is that not a sign from God?" cried the rabbi. "A sign of nature!" they insisted, again making it three to one. Just as the rabbi is about to beg an even bigger sign, the sky blackened and a booming voice intoned: "HEEEEEEEEEE'S RIIIIIIIIIIGHT!" The rabbi, hands on hips, said, "Well...?" The others shrugged, "So now it's three against two."

I've gotten scowls and giggles ( depending on my audience ) for three decades of my saying " If Jesus could see what Christians are doing in his name he'd roll over in his grave"
So, yeah I did get it.
Shalom :)

I hope you will not mind my comments:
Actually Christians in order to prove themselves better & higher than the House of Israel, started off by calling their prophet, son of god. Somebody must tell the person that Jesus was there way after Moses.
AsSalam.

Jesus did indeed die, but you must remember from your religious education, that he also was raised from the dead and is seated at the Fathers right hand now, after having ascended into heaven. That many of his Jewish followers witnessed. As is written in the New Testament part of the Bible.
So he can see, which the commenter obviously forgot.
But it is quite funny I suppose in a funny sort of way.
Jesus is of the decent of David, but he was very critical of the hypocrisy of the religious leaders of the day. That's why they saute to have him killed, and they where jealous of his popularity and following, because of the miracles he did in God's name.
Whilst they the "holy" men of those days where going around having people stoned to death for blasphemy over the silly est things, he Jesus was healing the sick. He healed on the Sabbath day. He turned water into wine and was accused of being a drunkard.
