I don't think your father is "stupid" at all for not wanting his teenage child to stay overnight in a hotel with their teenage boyfriend.
When you are an adult and can pay for your own hotel, and take responsibility for your 'adult' actions, then do as you will. Your father owes you nothing in this regard.

You really have a lot of nerve asking your father to lend you money to spend the night in a hotel at 16 years old... You are a child, and your father is RESPONSIBLE for your welfare. Letting you go out and screw your boyfriend all night long on prom night isn't a responsible parent's actions.
Your thinking seems to be rather skewed, as well.
Act like a lady, and be thankful you have a parent who doesn't want to turn you into a ho.

Well if your dad had agreed to lend you the money, you wouldn't be thinking that way would you?
I hope to heaven that your dad cares enough about you to put his foot down and tell you that you cannot stay with this boy in a hotel all night. It makes you look like a sl*t and frankly why would you want to be with anyone who isn't concerned about your reputation. This won't mean a thing to you right now, but keep this answer and when your 16yr old daughter asks you to do the same thing, read it and see what you think then. Hopefully your dad will still be alive for you to apologize to.

Banks are essential to the financial system in the United States. With no loans, businesses can't get the money to make payroll and other expenses. A lot of companies leverage themselves out to maximize their profits. That plan would work, if the banks were lending! Btw, Bernanke & Paulson acted in the case of Bear Sterns and Morgan Stanley because their failure could have caused a financial meltdown and create another Great Depression.

If you were a parent you wouldn't let your kids stay in a hotel for one night with her friends. You'd have to be brainless to do that. Your dad is not stupid. I can understand where he's coming from. He doesn't want you to do something stupid. I'm sure he's been a teenager and knows how things will end up. He wants to protect you. He's right for the decision he made. I think you should appreciate that your dad cares so much.

At least you have a father! And what dad would want his daughter staying in a hotel with a boy?
Get over it and be thankful for what you have. If you think this is the worst thing in the world then wait until you get older. Life is going to hit you hard little misses!

Your father isn't stupid.
This is a typical sounding story. Girl wants to go to the hotel with her bf after prom and some of his friends. She says, it isn't a big deal. She swears she won't lose her virginity. But she does.
Your father is just looking out for you. Don't go. Wait to lose your virginity 'til your older.
I have a 12 year old daughter and she is already dating, which worries me to the highest. She may be a good girl, but she can get wild. I know it will be hard for her to not have sex on her prom night.
Right now, save the sex, unless it's really planned out.

Maybe he thinks that you'll do stupid things and doesn't want to part of it. Besides that who rent the room anyway, you have to be 18. But don't count on that either, they won't let minors stay there without al legal gardian

If my daughter asked me for money so she can spend the night in a hotel with her b/f, I would go off and she would know better than to ever ask me something like that again. I raised her to use common sense and we would be talking about that.

maybe in your dad's eyes, it would be like telling your boyfriend,' yeah man, it's okay with me, go ahead and screw my daughter'. and good dad's DON'T do that, and their number one role as a Father is to protect their kids, even when the kids don't think they want protecting. And maybe he can remember how he was at 17. and he knows what guys that age have on their minds...
