Went to emerg. Child complaining of severe abdominal pain and vomiting.Took x ray of child's abdomen. Doctor said that he was full of gas and feces. Gave enema and lactulose-sent home. That was 2 days ago and child has had 2 more enemas since, lactulose everyday, along with only high fiber diet. He has had no bm's without the enemas. After enemas are given his abdominal pain increases to the point that he is very close to passing out. When he eats, he complains of the pain being almost in between his rib cage(upper). Says its tender to the touch. Gets winded and weak. Unable to move; walk very well with out buckling over in pain. Can this all be caused from constipation or possibly something else with the stomach?

Well first I would advise getting a second opinion. Second when I was fifteen I kept getting pains in my stomach and it hurt real bad I went to the hospital twice and they told me it was gas told me to take tums:) It wasn't until I went to a clinic that they found out it was gullstones I was only fifteen and that is very rare at that age but I had to have surgery.so go to someone else and get a second opinion. I'm not saying that is what it is but it doesn't hurt to get it checked. Mine felt like someone was stabbing me right in the same spot you describe and turning the knife. Lay him down and push directly under the right side of his rib cage that is where the gullbladder is located. Hope he gets to feeling better. Appendix is on that side too. Depending on his age that could be why they didn't check for those kinds of things.

I would think take him to a specialist, to really find out what is going on, a child on a high fiber diet yet can not go to the bathroom unless he has an enema, not good at all. I don't have to be a doctor to see that one. Take him to a doctor but do not go to the emergency room, you need a real doctor, a specialist not an MD>

I would go to a doctor. If you don't get an answer that makes sense and works, go to a specialist. This sounds serious.
