I'm 18 and I'm having my wisdom teeth taken out and they've found a cyst on my jaw that they are also going to remove. I'm really nervous and kinda scared. I was just wondering exactly what they might do? Is it going to be terribly painful? Am I going to have to be awake or will they put me to sleep? An how am I supposed to breathe if they're doing surgery on my jaw? Has anyone else had this done before?

When I had my wisdom teeth pulled I was awake, gas cost more and my ins don't cover the gas. They gave me shots in my gums until I could feel nothing. The only pain was the shots them self.

Then the DR filled packed my cheeks with Gauss, gave me Two scripts, antibiotics & pain killers, then I had to go to the Pharmacy unable to speak.

The Next day when the shot wore off is a bit painful, it took about two days to feel normal again. I never took my pain pill just stayed in bed a lot and had lots of soup.

I've had oral surgery on a very sensetive part under my tounge. It hurt but the main thing to do is right after the suregry, take more meds that your surgeon pescribes before they wear off.

And besides that you'll be on a liquid diet! Hay fun with that. I hated it becuase for the first day all I could have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner was milkshakes.

But don't worry! You'll be okay. I had an excellent oral surgeon, so I didn't feel anything.

Best Wishes!

They'll either numb you or put you to sleep. Afterwards, though, it may take a few weeks to completely recover. It will hurt the first few days too.

If they numb you, don't worry. The only pain you'll feel are the needles.
