i didn't have a b/f till I was 16, I'm 18 now but things seem to have changed alot since I was 12. I read on the net about kids wanting to have sex at 12/13, they dont seem to think holding hands and kissing is enough which I find really strange. is this what all kids are like now? i dont want my 12yr old sister to get a b/f if thats what hes going to want...

Unfortunately, it's very common. These young kids need to take parenting and health classes in elementary instead of high school. I mean, sex at 12 is sad, and neither one really understands what's going on.

I'm staying a virgin 'till I'm married. Sex with someone that isn't going stick around and raise a baby or else send support just isn't very smart.

I think pre-marital sex has become more... not acceptable, but practiced because of the influence it has in the media (tv, magazines, movies, the internet). It also can vary a lot, depending on the area.

I'm with you, I think it's really scary how young kids are sexually trying to look and act like adults. I think one of the best things people can do to ensure their children don't get caught up in this trend is to have an open and honest relationship with their kids. Children don't do things because the media pressures them too -- they do them because their parents don't talk to them about the media.

I think 12/13 year olds aren't mature enough to have sex at that age. I am not like that and I wasn't at age 12. I've never had a bf and I'm 19. Sex is supposed to be between married couples. I will definitely wait till I'm married to have sex. They need to be taught not to have sex till they're married.
Hope that helps you some.

Depends upon what part of the world one is in.

There are some places where it is even illegal for a parent to spank the child and discipline him/her.

Hence we have so many teenage pregnancies.

However there are a very large number of people who lose their virginity around the age of 15.

A lot depends upon the parents and their own culture and of course responsible parenting. On top of that we have the media which exposes children to unnecessary sexual stuff!

I agree with you. If it is not illegal to spank her, spank her. Remember, "Spare the rod and spoil the child!"

that is horrible!!! honestly, at 12 and 13 i was just starting to be interested in guys.

it is true that kids are growing up faster and faster these days due to media and such...

but still...

it is WAY too young. kids should not be engaging in activities made for adults. they shouldn't even know what it is!!
