I have a yellow lab and she lives in the garage/outside. She has a dogdoor to a small pen outside and a filthy bed in a box. My mom wont let her in because she sheds. But i'm worried my dog is lonely and cold......

What can I do to make my mom let her inside????????

Leaving a dog outside all the time is no way to treat it. Most dogs shed, it's what they do. You might try combing the dog every day so she sheds less, or maybe getting a special comb like a Furminator that really removes a lot of the loose hair. Talk to your Mom and see if she will let the dog in at night if you promise to groom the dog every day.

Dogs are social animals and keeping them outside alone all the time is just wrong. You are right to be upset.

Brush the dog everyday.

CLEAN! Don't leave it up to your mom, YOU clean up the hair.

Your mom might agree to let the dog in to certain rooms or areas of the house. That way you both win. The dog comes in, but doesn't get to go everywhere.

Also, make sure the dog is always clean. A bath every other week (given by YOU!) will keep the dog smelling nice and keep the shedding down.

Try brushing her more.. they sell really good dog brushes to remoe lots of shedding fur. And actually... I don't think labs really shed this time of the year. They shed in the spring when they're losing their winter coat. Also, show your mom that you will take care of any hair that the dog does shed by vaccuuming more for her!... Start vaccuuming the areas where you know your dog lays and the carpets. Labs are truely great dogs, prove that to your mother.

It is absolutly unfair to your dog to have to live outside. If this goes too far, it can be reported as abuse. Talk calmly to your mom about the condiditons your dog is in and try to strike a compromise. Some things to talk about:
* Brush her daily, it will reduce shedding,
*you will do most of the work for her. Shuch as taking her out to use the bathroom, ect.

Good luck to you and your dog!!

i think of that is tremendously cruel (no offense), yet what i could recommend doing is putting a gated section up around a door with a puppy door on it on your new homestead. And fencing interior the outdoor. i think of that is fairly recommend to make unfavorable canine sit down outdoors all day, so this way the toddler could be secure out of your canine yet they could nevertheless be outdoors each and each time they want to be. Or in case you are going to be able to desire to place them outdoors build or purchase a outstanding enormous canine homestead and make effective there are a great number of shady spots interior the backyard with foodstuff, toys, and water. At evening you may desire to enable them to interior and use the assumption I reported before. In iciness (in case you get that the place you reside) you need to use the assumption I reported above so as that they wouldnt could desire to go through interior the freezing chilly.

Thanks so much for your concern for your dog. If you feed it a good food with fish oil supplements and brush it with a shedding blade or Furminator, the shedding is usually pretty minimal. I'm sure your mom sheds her own hair, so ask if she should be made to live outside for it. Dogs living outside away from their family typically have a lot more behavior problems: howling, barking, digging, escaping, etc.

Brush her everyday. Google the cons on being left outside and see if that works.

i think you should call your local spca, ask them to come down and just TALK to your mom. They'll threaten to take the dog if she doesnt bring him inside and clean up the poor dogs bed!!
