They have lots of genetic problems from eye, nasal problems to skin conditions and bone structure problems. The avereage age is 8 years, some live longer, some shorter.

the average life span for a Bulldog is about 8 to 10 years. We know some bulldogs that have made it to 12

It depends on breeding, overall health, and many other factors.
Every dog is different, and there's no sense in worring about it.
Enjoy everyday knowing that ALL dogs don't live anywhere near as long as we want them to.
That just by loving a dog, we open ourselves to the pain of losing them.
You accepted that before you knew he might not live as long as other dogs, it's no less true now.

They generally have a shorter life span that other dogs their size....due to the many problems the breed has, not the least of which is breathing difficulties.
Of the MANY I have known, the oldest was 9.
