I have used marijuana probably a dozen times over 7-8 years, should i say that? Or will it hurt my chances of getting hired... I haven't done anything recently

yeah tell them about the weed and the meth...dont forget to tell them about the crack you smoked back in '89....Im sure they'll hire you after all of this.

No you shouldn't mention it. Drug use is illegal and you don't want anything "official" confirming you ever used it.
If you don't use drugs just say that when you are asked. No need to go into detail about history. If they say something like "everyone has used drugs" just say "I'm not sure I agree with that but in any event all I can tell you is I do not use drugs. Do NOT say "now".
The key here is do not lie to them but keep consistent with the fact that you do not use any. Do not say "I have never used drugs." They may be more interested in whether you would lie than they are about whether you used drugs in the past. By saying the above you aren't saying "never" but are letting them know you are not "now" a druggie even though you haven't used the word "now".

If you have stopped doing the drugs, you should be fine. From now on, don't tell anyone about them. After a period of time, maybe 60 days (??), those drugs will not appear in your urine and thus will not be detected by the drug test.

You're fine. A buddy of mine smoked weed every day in highschool, and he was a volunteer firefighter right after we graduated, he's joining the army now.

like casinos they probly do a hair test.they last about 7 years.if youve been a good boy that long dont worry.a little white lie wont hurt.if you smoked a joint 8 years ago i sure as hell would trust my life to you!good luck,very redeeming career.

I know firefighters that hit the hash pipe regularly. They don't say anything about it and they're fine.
After all, its a job where you sit around most of the time.
