Yes your can. You are in the right price range for rebuilding your credit. With the cash down you are showing that you have an investment in the car.
The first thing I would do is research the car you want. Then I would go to your bank or credit union and see if you qualify for a loan (you might not but that's ok). Then you can look on the Internet for financing like CapitalOne E-loan or BarNone.com. The dealership might be able to get you a better rate but at least you'll know that you didn't get taken advantage of at the dealership.
If that fails because you have really bad credit you can visit a dealership they might have access to sub-prime options that will allow you to purchase a vehicle.
Please research the value of the vehicle before you commit to buying.

Being in high-school at the time you accepted the card is not the issue. How old were you? Did you lie and tell them that your were over 18? That could be considered fraud. If you were under 18, they should not have offered you the card since a minor cannot sign a binding contract such as a credit card agreement. Did you continue to use the card after you turned 18? If you did not (and they knew your true age), then you might have a defense. If you did use the card after turning 18, you are liable. If they win the lawsuit, you will have to pay. If you think that is the case, try to settle with them for a lesser amount before you go to court.

Yes you can! I bought a car even after going bankrupt one time! As long as you can still be making your payments on time,is what they are looking at. You probally have a better credit score than you think! The first thing you should do is to get one. you can go to annualcreditreport.com It's free for the report once a year. You can get the score, only it will cost you a few dollars to do so,but cheaper than having to pay for the whole thing! That way,you will know what your score is & what you are dealing with. If it is say below 650 ,they will charge you more interest, but you can still get a car.

well youve got 3 grand now, gather another thousand or two and buy yourself a cheap and on going honda or toyota. then when you are done with that credit problem you will be able to put yourself down in dept again by buying a better car. paying credit bill is very unintelligent since you are already down in negative. good luck.
