I've never really been the kind of girl to ask out men, but I've been getting a lot of crap from my galfriends about how it's really silly of me to have that scruple, especially sense I've been crushing on this guy for 4 months and don't want to ask him out even now that he's single. Girls who ask out guys just seem slutty and/or desperate to me, is that a misguided observation?

If you're slutty or desperate it will seem like that. But if you're confident and go after what you want, the guy should be more than open about it.

Asking a guy out does not fit the definition of being slutty or desperate. Takes a lot more than that. Just ask him out. Guys can be extremely shy. Your move. Good luck.

Where have you been girl?
It's the 21st century, girl's have been asking men out for a long time now.
What are you waiting for? There is nothing to be afraid of. I don't know where you got the, "girl's are slutty and/or desperate" bull, (that's a old male's myth). Can't go thinking like that anymore.
GO AND ASK THE MAN OUT NOW, BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.

I don't think it's slutty or desperate for a girl to ask a guy out. I think it's even better because there are guys out there who like girls to take the initiative. Just go for it! Best of luck to you.

how do they seem slutty, u only get that idea from looking at other people and social life.. Truly it is not slutty or desperate, it is only an classic idea that guys should ask out girls....but times change. i kinda like having the girl make the first move though.

You definitely don't look slutty if you ask a guy out. As for desperate, unless you throw yourself at him, I wouldn't think so. Asking a guy out shows you have a lot of confidence to my way of thinking.

hmm n, i've been thinking of asking the guy i like to snowcourt. just gotta find out if he has a gf still...... hmm... no id think its slutty or desperate. if he is single and if u really like him, then go for it.

No it doesn't. I once had a relationship that started because the woman asked me out. We had been co-workers and it hadn't even occurred to me to think about her that way until she asked.
Also some guys are shy and may like you but be nervous about how to approach you. If you're bold enough to make the first move they may appreciated.
