im going to make a gingerbread house.
out of graham crackers actually.
but i need some ideas on how to build the structur.
i want it to look great when everyone comes to see it.
and yes i am a pretty great icing piper.
i can pipe almost anything :)

The best designs I have seen have been done over a cardboard form. First glue the shape you want out of strong card or thick poster core and then attach the crackers using icing and decorate with candy. The poster core or cardboard will give the structure the strength it needs so you don't have to be frustrated by early collapse. Good Luck!

I've always made a very simple type of gingerbread house. Make a pattern out of paper and use it to cut out pieces of gingerbread before baking. You should have two square end pieces with peaks for the front and back, rectangles for the sides and roof, and small pieces for a chimney (if you want one). You use royal icing to hold it together, and to stick the candies on. I typically use Necco wafers for the roof, since they look like tiles. The rest of it doesn't really have a pattern, but there's usually gumdrops, peppermints, mini candy canes, and so on. Just put them on in a pattern that you like.
