Think Pascal's Wager in reverse.

I appreciate Dawn's answer...right on the mark.
Some people avoided the question all together. This question asks you to make a hypothetical assumption (that belief does not result in eternal life or condemnation to hell). You have to understand why some believers proselytize using Pascal's Wager (John 3:16) in order to construct a cogent answer.

Look up fealty (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fealty ). The question uses it in a pejorative sense to illustrate a point.

God is a good idea... if your a conformist. I think that Norse mythology is more truthful, as they reward you for dying heroically, not dying because you wouldn't bend a little. With christian martyrs, they all are too proud to bend a little, with their "my god is real and yours isn't" attitude. So long live Eirik Bloodaxe and Sigmund Volsungasson!

Believe in god whatever he does to me. He is my creator and I submit to what he does , good or bad ,in my sadness and happiness. that's what I call the right faith in god. He tell you that this life is temporary and I am preparing an eternally wonderful life in heaven if you only believe in me. why are you so attached to this short life?? but if you believe in him because you want life , that's prove your egoism and not the real faith in god.

God showed himself to me. So if I go to Heaven or hell I would still believe.
He exists.

Like my father once said. "If none of it were true, it's still a good way to live".....But I believe all that God's word says because God will say "Let it be" and it will happen.

The belief in God is gift from God. Either you have that gift or you don't. If then one receives such a gift it then becomes part of way they are. Cant change that.

Why would God create us if we weren't to inherit eternal life?
