I just see it as a large cost for a small improvement.

some people just get the latest and greatest, no matter the cost.
Now, I watched a football game on a 10k wall projector - that was surreal.
But, I have not spent that much on electronics (excluding computers) in my lifetime.

I think it is a big deal I think that we are in a world now where everything changes and technology is one of those things. Try to relate back to your childhood as far as you could remember, what technology was out then? I believe every step to enrichment (High Definition) being one of them makes a more up to date world, Yes I agree that they are force feeding us and most of it is just a little too much, for everyone or even un-necessary but to me HD, is more than just a small improvement I think it is a big improvement whether through sound or picture, I guess you just have to be one to have a passion for technology in the Audio/Video world that's just the only response I have for now.

Watch a good HD show on someone's TV, like on the Discovery channel or PBS. They broadcast in 1080i and look stunning.

Small improvement HD is really good especially if u have a LCD or plasma like the movies look ALOT better

I compare the HD version versus the standard version of various channels and I just don't see the difference.
PS. I have a Samsung 50" plasma TV.

Some folks claim the picture is so sharp, you can count the nose hairs on any person (Sorry, I don;t watch TV for that reason)

i think blu-ray is better cuz the regular price is 1000 dollars but if u buy PSP u can get it for 400 dollars and HD is pricey
