My opinion is that there should be a National ID card created that is as copy proof as is possible.

We should then require all illegal, undocumented aliens to register with the INS and receive one of these cards for every member of his/her family.

And here is where it gets ugly - you have to give an amnesty to any of those who come forward, who have not committed violent crimes. Yes I used the "A" word. But all you bright boys and girls our there who have a seizure every time someone says this - tell me how you get 12 to 20 MILLION illegal aliens to come forward, if they think they will be deported if they do??? IF you can't answer that simple question, then shut your mouth about an amnesty until you can. We can't catch a single person with the help of America's Most Wanted and his/her face splached all over the TV, and you think you are just going to go out a arrest and deport 20 million people? Right.

The last thing I would have implemented, is a penalty for any employer who hires or employs an illegal alien. Say $20,000 for a first offense, $250,000 and a month in jail for a second offense, and $25,000,000 and a year in jail for your third strike. And I would include in the law that there is no corporate immunity to personal finances. If you are caught, you should understand that you and your family will loose everything. Hire someone who has the national ID and pay the proper wages and taxes, or risk total financial ruin if caught.

Then I would allow anyone who can pass the background checks to enter the US and find a job. But there would be a minimum wage that applied to all workers in the US. So an employer who claims Americans won't take the job, will find out that American's will gladly take the job, if you pay a real wage, instead of slave wages to illegals that do not dare complain.

I agree wholeheartedly with Mike Huckabee's proposal: That we send all illegals back home and let them come back into our country legally. Yes, it will be hard on families at first. But in the long run, it would be the best thing. Secure our boarders and make it a crime for American businesses to hire illegal aliens. He also supports making it easier to become a legal citizen by cutting out a lot of the "red tape."

No, I do not hate or even dislike foreign people. We all came from somewhere else. They just need to do it right.

I don't think its a problem at all. People are over reacting. The situation as it stands, illegal aliens come north for the jobs, employers hire them so long as they have the proper (all fake) social security card, birth certificate, and state ID or drivers license. Employers increase productivity and simultaneously decrease payroll cost. Its a win-win-win situation. As for displaced Americans, they're just too stupid to get a college education to better their lives. It doesn't have to be a 4-year college; we have 2-year vocational colleges that offer job training into skills that illegal aliens can never learn. Yet, Americans cry "foul" when employers hire illegal aliens who are clearly better workers at factories and low-skill service jobs.

We as a people, have to look at how illegal immigration is affecting us today. Not how it was affecting us in the past.

Truth is illegals are draining our health care system and it's effect is passed on to the people who are citizens of this country to make up the difference by charging us outrageous premiums.

A large number of illegals are here because they were chased out of their own country because they were criminals.

Everyone has such nice answers to this problem, but the person talking about national ID cards for illegals has missed something:"The National ID Card" will not just be for illegals, but for US citizens as well. It wouldn't make sense to have an ID card for just Mexicans.

One illegal here another one over there and pretty soon ...you have millions of illegas and their impact on society becomes detrimental.

In the ideal, if you come here illegally, you are a crimina and shoud be removed and or discipined.

Some peope may sneak through in small numbers ...but they are still illegal. Who wants to live like that? Where is their future? What good will come of it ...unless their is hope that society you have stolen from, will give you a free pass to citizenship.
For this reason, we can not give away citzenship ...to criminals.

Birthright citizenship should also be ended as it has been by every EU country, and for the same reason. It is a continuing magnet for more as is education, benefits for the children, etc.
