christmas problems........help!?

so my bf of 2.5 years wants me to come visit his fam for xmas on the sat and sun b4 xmas. we would leave sat morn and come back sunday morn. we are both 21 and are going with his parents to visit his relatives 3-4 hrs away. my mom is hestitant about me going bc she is worried about the eather and since ive been away at college, she hasnt seen me in a month so she wants me to stay home. i told my bf that i would go a few days ago and now i said i dont want to go. he got really mad that i was listening to my mother and never listen to myself. i am torn bc i dont know whether i should go with my bf or not? what should i do

You're 21 and well old enough to decide how you're going to spend the holidays. Absolutely go with your b/f. There'll be tons of time to spend with your mom, including xmas day. I think you need to put your foot down now, because as you get older and get a family, xmas plans only get more complicated and if you let your mother tell you what to do now, it'll only get worse for you.

What do you want to do? At first you say you will go. Is this because you wanted too or to make him happy. You can tell him or your mother either what you really want to do. Make this choice the way you want and break the news to both in a nice way. Do not argue just state to either that you will be only less than 2 days. In the next few years mom will see you less and if things get more serious with the friend you will know what the rest of the family is like. If his family does not like you or has problems then you may want to stay away later.

I would think at 21 you would be old enough to make up your own mind. If not, seeems like now would be a good time to start.
