John Paul II is no longer the pope. He was an EXCELLENT pope, though. The current pope's name is Benedict ... and he's actually a good pope, too, despite the fact that he was John Ratzinger, who was a 'bishop' I ABSOLUTELY HATED while he was in that position. If you want to do some 'research' you should be able to 'see' that once a man takes the 'new name' as pope, that GOD actually does 'speak through him' since many of the things Pope Benedict is saying are contradictory to the things he said as Archbishop Ratzinger.

Pope John Paul II was a beautiful example of Christ's love in action. He genuinely cared about other people and wanted nothing more than to see the nations of the world living in peace and harmony.
His last years were spent in pain and suffering, and yet he always had a smile and a word of encouragement for others. When he was dying, he put all his trust and faith in the mercy of God.
I hope to see him joined to the ranks of the Church's cannonized saints very soon. He didn't just talk about God's love for us. . .he showed that love throughout his life.

I am LDS, not Catholic, but I believe that John Paul II was a good man, a man influenced by God, and a very good human being. The love and kindness he exhibited to all is very impressive to me.

I think he was a strong man who went through a lot in his life. He really appealed to other conservative Catholics, but after WWII, that was a good thing.
He could have done a little more for pushing the Church into the modern age, but after all, he was really old.
When I was in eighth grade he died. Since I went to a Catholic school, we watched his funeral on tv. It was very interesting to see the thousands, even millions of Catholics who were mourning. That really says something about what he did for the world.

First let me say I am not a christian.I am a human being who does not want to be labelled by any religious sect. As for the pope he like all other religious leaders is a joke. From what I know about the bible it seems to suggest money and riches are not you need to follow a faith.Have you seen the Vatican not much money there,ho ho.Still Roman Catholics what more can you expect.

He was better than some of the Popes. Heck, I'd have coffee with him.

That pope was a rather good one. This one is the last before the anti-Christ comes I understand. We are living in dark evil days. We must pray a lot and be on fire for Jesus. Jesus said if we are luke warm he will spew us from him.

Do you mean the former pope? He is now deceased and no longer the pope. What do I think about him? He proved to be as good or as bad pope as any other to hold the papal office.

He is just a man. The leader of the Catholic Church. He has no authority to save mens souls. He cannot forgive sin, as neither can his priests. There is no way to God except through Christ. Not Mary. Someone said read the Gospel of Mary, no such thing in the Bible.

There is no pope, there was no pope. There is a man due for burning, as you will see.
