I don`t see why living with a male roomate would be inappropriate for a college girl. They boy is 28 and I am 20,I met him today, but my mother`s best friend has known his family for years. It would be easier for both of us if we moved in together,I would have more money for my other needs and he would have more money to pay the mortgage for the apartment.I told my brother this and guess what he said?He said it is a little slutty in his opinion. Why would it be slutty and why would it be inappropriate, he is not my b/f or anything, I just want a lower rent.My dad told me: you`re smart, you`ll know how to judge what you`re getting and what you`re losing if you move. I asked him if he had anything against this, but he said he would agree with everything I decide to do (he always says ths).Could they be worried about what other people are gonna say? Honesty, I don`t give a damn about that, this is my life after all.Do you think my brother had a good reason to call my move slutty?

No it is not slutty. Just remember that it COULD lead to akwardness if anything was to EVER happen between the two of you. But as long as you guys just stayed friends there is NOTHING wrong with it. Only you know what is best for you. I know a lot of people who live with a roommate of another sex and in my experience it works. In fact, sometimes it's easier to live with a guy than a girl because girls can be catty!

If you know others that know him then talk to them about his habits. see how he lives. Talk to him about expectations in all parts of the house. Lots of people do this to save money. Just talk about rules you will have about company and the hours they can be there. If you talk about this up front and can come to an understanding then will not be bad but you will always find a few habits of the other that you do not like. Most of all make sure you can talk to him about problems that come up in your apt. when one does things the other is annoyed by.

It's not slutty. I had many male roommates as I went through university. Your dad is right. Just listen to him and ask him to help you think through your decision. Ignore everyone else.

Well, it SOLELY depends on yours and his intentions. If you are truly going to just be roommates I see nothing wrong, but young people are young people....People make the huge mistake of moving in in a romantic scenario with people they aren't married to and it almost always ends in disaster, so just be careful and be honest with yourself about the whole thing.

Sleeping in close proximity ... the guy could wander in the dark .... parents worried the urge to merge may over come the study habits ..... They want the best for you ......
Choose well

Not sluty very normal in my openion. Guys and girls have differ openions and feelings about things. Your brother is just trying to protect you, thats what older guys do in a girls life. My parents don't want me to move in with my boyfriend, they will get over it. You decide about if you want to move in with him or not. If it gets out of control you can always move out.

I think you should totally do it. it's pointless to waste the extra money when you both like the sound of it and you know he's not a bad kid.

I'd do it.
