An edgy hair cut is a haircut that a person owns. It's not the cloned cut that we see nowadays (aka "scene" hair or layered with side bangs)... it's the original, out there cut that the wearer owns and makes them stand out. It doesn't matter how many colors it contains, or the length ; it's ment to make a statement.
As long as you own it and put some sort of unique flair with it, you are fine.

Lots of layers, cut this way and that so that all the hair looks like it can't find it's way home. Grab a bunch of hair at the crown of the head bring it up and cut it in a V-shape. Take the hair underneath and bring it back in a pony tail and cut it at a 45 degree angle. The rest of the hair at the nape of neck should be cut with a thinning shears so that it looks whispy.
This ends up being pretty edgy and works well on any type of hair but best on fine hair with a little bit of body to it.

I love the classic bob with a flair in which the back is a bit shorter than the front such as pop star rhianna or beckem's wife (from 'the spice girls'). Jenny McCarthy's new 'do looks like what I'm trying to describe as well :)
Btw, Color & Style magazine tends to have several different styles in the middle section of the magazine.

My hair is quite short,
Is concaved at the back and gets longer towards the front.
It has really short layers.
And the fringe is diagonal so it is long one side and short the other.
I get so many compliments for it and get asked where i get it cut all of the time.

A cut such as Lisa Rhena( I may have spelled her name wrong) She used to be on Days,Soap Talk & Dancing with the Stars. wears Kind of shorter,very texerized ,kind of flippy on the bottom,but almost kind of messy like.It's very cool looking.
