In the US military we all salute the same and enlisted salute officers from any branch of service. Here in the Middle East it is not uncommon to see a sandsailor(like myself) saluting an Army, Air Force or Marine officer. We also salute officers from a different countries (ie: S.Korea, Australia, Iraq, Kuwait, etc). Now if your talking about the salute itself being different from ours (US), then yes it is different. In Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait (to name a few) they salute with the palm of their hand facing the officer, whereas we salute with the back of our hand facing the officer. To know your saluting correctly, when you hold your salute and you look up at it, you should be able to see your palm. I hope that answers your question!

All amenities have their very own version however the purpose of the salute relationship lower back in background while senior ranks have been respected by potential of the junior ranks, replaced into to teach an enhanced rank which you had not something interior the hand that could desire to harm the officer. This replaced into performed many times with an open palm and the elevating of it to teach the hand replaced into empty. this practice has carried on and at present the army are the only provider to maintain the custom wisely. the different amenities have tailored it. It has now became greater to a salute to understand the rank of the different person. As for saluting interior the RAF the only person/rank it is saluted is a commissioned workplace of Flying officer rank or above. As for sloppy saluting i'm effective the station warrant officer does not have that on his station.

In the US, the PHYSICAL ACTION of the salute is uniform.
HOWEVER: the time, place, and situation can vary from service to service.
In the Navy (and Marines), we NEVER salute indoors unless under arms... that was one thing that often chaps my backside in the Movies:
A Marine will be shown coming into the Commanding Officer's office with his COVER on, and then saluting ?? NO !! You remove your cover on entering a building, and you don't salute, you stand at attention and report.
Just one example, and it's been almost 10 years.

In the American military the physical act of saluting is the same in each branch......but the rules on when and where to salute change in some branches......
Also under certain circumstances saluting is suspended even in violation of normal protocols....
and...... the saluting you see in movies and specially TV...... is NOT according to tradition or regulation......sometimes it is almost a cartoon
