I know we as American citizens pay the taxes but do they take them out of state taxes, property taxes...what?

Mostly from the local property taxes. I just received a statement that shows how much amount goes to local schools from what we pay for property taxes.

Schools are primarily funded via local property taxes. Some states also use lottery funds to supplant property tax revenues and most states and the Federal government provide at least some supplemental funding as well.
