Yes, I consider the Roman Catholic church as a reliable source of truth.

The Catholic Church is God's true Church. End of discussion.

No. But then neither do I consider any other "church" a reliable source of truth, either. Only God's word, the Bible, is a reliable source of truth, and only as God helps us understand it in response to our sincere request.

Where do you think all the western religion came from? It was the holy Roman church that started the whole thing. If you don't buy their truth then question anything that follows.

Certainly not. Although the principle of papal infallibility isn't supposed to apply to secular areas but only to matters of doctrine -- about which there IS no objective truth -- it remains the case that official positions on various issues have a disproportionate effect on believers with no recourse to their individual rationality.

The aphorism "Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely" was said by Lord Acton about a pope.

can you suggest any alternative when it comes to learning about God?

then again, whatever you suggest, I won't take your word even with a grain of salt. you are not the source of "The truth" at all.

Yes, Matthew 16:18-19 says,
"And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." This is what Jesus said to Peter.
