I love those mixers,..I believe they come with the attachments you need, a paddle blade, a wire mixing head, and a dough-hook. But, things you might find handy would be an extra mixing bowl, some wooden spoons, a set of good rubber spatulas and measuring cups. If you are into baking and do not have any, I also recommend the silicone sil-pats that line cookie sheets and are reusable along with being oven safe.
The new types of flexible bake-ware is also a nice addition to any bakers shelf.

Probably not... Unless you plan on making really large batches of stiff batter with the mixer, you could get away with the artisan. The pro has a larger mixing bowl, and aluminum and steel mixing attachments as opposed to plastic on the artisan. The only other difference I am aware of other than a stronger motor on the pro, is that the artisan has a tilt up head, whereas the pro has a handle to lift the bowl up to the mixer. Personally, regardless, I would spend the extra money for the pro...it will probably last longer and you won't have to buy replacement attachments ever.

It should come with the paddle, whip, and dough hook. Make sure it has the plastic guard for the bowl to prevent splatters or flour flying everywhere. As long as you're getting a KA, ask for the shredder attachment too. It's mostly used for shredding veggies, but it shreds cheeses beautifully. And the best part is that buying cheeses in blocks is cheaper than the prepackaged shredded cheeses. And you can make your own blends and just put it in ziplocks and freeze them for later. I don't think I could live without my shredder attachment.

outside of the standard mixing "attachments' of a whip, paddle and dough hook you need the splash guard with feed tube and go ahead and get the mixer attachment pack. That should take care of 95% of your needs. Dont waste money on the pasta kit or makers. They are way over priced for what you get and can do with them. For pasta, hand cranked machine is best and 75 to 80% less money.
