It was a joke that fell flat, just thank them for the gift. They have a very odd idea of what's funny.

wow you are making a big deal about nothing. If people actually gave "over the hill" paper when people are over the hill it wouldn't be funny. Giving it to a one year old is hilarious - unless you're going to argue that your baby doesn't appreciate that sort of humor. If this is how you are going to react to things like this in his life then that child is going to be out for a long and hard life. You should seriously lighten up and realize that things are funny sometimes. Wrapping paper is nothing to worry about.

If they are 18, that explains it, because who understands an 18 year old these days?! LOL I would just forget about it. Your baby didn't know the difference. Be glad they gave a gift and showed up for the party.

Sounds kind of funny, now you just need to also find a unique way to pay them back at their birthdays, in front of everybody.

If you still have the wrapping paper, you could tell them that you are gonna get it framed. So your child can see what his aunties got him for his first b-day.
Sort of like a constant reminder to them that you didn't like what they did.

I think it's funny. Nobody thinks your baby is really "over the hill," hence the joke. Baby stuff can be a little too cute for many adults, and it could be that they were trying to have a little fun with it. I think you're being too sensitive.

PS the spelling is "comical."

Your baby is obviously too young to know what the paper represents. Maybe it was a grown up joke, for you. You might not find it funny, but next time theyll know you dont have much of a sense of humour.

Either this was the only paper they had, or they really meant no harm... Different people have different sense of humor. I think you are being a bit sensitive, at the age of one he will not remember it. Be grateful they thought enough of him to show up and bring a gift... God bless****

i think they didnt have any other paper ,and didnt want to spend the money on more paper. or didnt feel like going to the store to get it, at any rate, made up a grandiose story and made a huge deal out of to hide the fact that they didnt use them paper. at any rate, i found it to be in very poor taste.

Well, that's their sense of humor...... I don't find it funny but I don't find it rude either.... that's just them and you shouldn't grant that much importance to it and sweat it..... just drop it, they're getting old so sometimes their humor isn't as "fun".

Weird, very weird. But at least he is too young to notice.
