Well I was almost not going to look to see what answers you received to this question. Not that I'm a New Zealander - but I do live here and Australians are always "having a go" at NZers - and vise versa.
So I'll tell you my experiences because I've lived half my life in both places.
NZers do not have as good a sense of humour as Aussies
NZers are much more sensitive - in that they are hurt easily - can be quite "touchy" and women burst into tears over very little things (and I'm a woman, not a man) But then perhaps they are also more sensitive to not hurting others as well - not sure about that.
Depending on where you live, I have found people far more friendly and caring in NZ to my experiences in Oz - but in some parts of NZ - I have found them very unfriendly and worse than I had experienced in oz - so areas do make a difference.
Australians are tougher - they can take jokes aimed at them on the whole.
NZ men are far more helpful in the home so I think they make better husbands. A lot of Australian men are still very chauvanist and think a man should never be seen in the kitchen or changing a baby's nappies, whereas most NZ men are great cooks and do an equal share of household duties. And this is probably because NZ women insist on it whereas they seem to accept it in Australia.
This has been my experience - I am not claiming to be right. And I hope I haven't hurt anyone's feelings
If you have a look at the answers in the question: Is it true that there is a law in Australia that says you must have a........ - there is a perfect example of how Australians can take a joke.
Now if you put a similar styled question to NZers based on either sheep or kiwis or something very NZ - you just see the offended answers you'll get. Of course I could be wrong. They might all be answers from NZ!!!

On the basis of a 4 day visit earlier this year, yes, I'd say friendly and honest could sum them up. Most are descended from ex UK citizens originally. The country is a bit like an idylic Cornwall.

I'm 14 and i live in N.Z. school is terrible here unless you can afford to go to a private school which i am lucky enough to be attending at the moment. Public Schools do this useless syllabus called ncea it is hopeless you don't learn anything. Only private schools do Cambridge which is a lot better than ncea. Public schools are filled with these people called maoris they sell drugs smoke etc... don't come here you will regret it.
