Need help identifying 2 trees?

Question

Since its already winter here, there are no leaves to use to help identify the trees, just some pictures I took of the bark.
I'm trying to determine if the following two trees are Maples:

These are maple trees.

ok how about u take it to a park ranger or somebody who is an expert at this stuff!!
