No. For the Heaven and Hell idea to work, it can't be based on how "bad" or "good" you are, it has to be based on WHO you are, what you have chosen ultimately, and your heart.
It's about the heart, not what you do.
It's not fair to judge by "how good of a person" you are according to the standards of society and morality, bc we don't all start on the same footing.
Human beings judge each other by their external actions. God judges them by their moral choices.
When a man who has been perverted from his youth and taught that cruelty is the right thing, does some tiny little kindness, or refrains from some cruelty he might have committed and thereby, perhaps, risks being sneered at by his companions, he may, in God’s eyes, be doing more than you and I would do if we gave up life itself for a friend.
It is well to put this the other way round.
Some of us who seem quite nice people may, in fact, have made so little use of a good heredity and a good upbringing that we are really worse than those whom we regard as fiends. Can we be quite certain how we should have behaved if we had been saddled with the psychological outfit, and then with the bad upbringing and then with the power say, of Himmler? That is why Christians are told not to judge. We see only the results which a man’s choices make out of his raw material. But God does not judge him on what he is given at all, but on what he has done with it. Most of the man’s psychological make-up is probably due to his body. When his body dies all that will fall off him, and the real central man, the thing that chose, that made the best or worst out of his material will stand naked.
All sorts of nice things which we thought our own, but which were really due to a good digestion, will fall off some of us: all sorts of nasty things which were due to complexes or bad health will fall off others. We shall then see, for the first time, see everyone as he really was. There will be surprises.
With grace and forgiveness, it takes into account an important choice that everyone can make: to live with God or without him. Hell isn't a punishment, it's a choice. It's the lack of the presence of God. If you don't want God in your life, refuse to seek him out, and just plain don't like him in your heart, he's not going to force you to go to heaven to be with him is he? It's about being able to set aside your pride and open your heart. The thing is, we all have done crummy things, and even when they are REALLY crummy, we have excuses, reasoning, and other rationalizations to justify it. Everyone thinks he's good enough to get in. Where would we draw the line?
Grace is great, bc it gives everyone an equal shot. The truly evil person will be so filled with pride that they won't accept the gift, like Hitler. Christianity is the only religion that offers unconditional love and acceptance. It's all we've got that's different. If you think you can handle it yourself and be perfect, knock yourself out. You won't last 15 minutes (I've tried). I kinda think that a lot murderers on death row are either mentally ill, underprivileged, have anger problems, are emotionally broken, came from terrible homes, have been abused, or something like that. There is always some reason they are there along with the choice. Have some compassion. I hope they all make it (although I'm pretty sure they won't).
Picture a court room with you on trial for doing something bad. The Father is the judge, satan is the prosecutor, and Jesus is the defense attorney. Satan delivers a blistering attack, with lots of evidence against you. You are guilty, no question about it. Then Jesus gets up to speak. He says, "Yes, Judge, my client is guilty, but the penalty has already been paid. By me. In blood." The Father smiles, and nods,"Paid in full. Case dismissed." That's a picture of what happens every time you screw up and are accused by Satan.

Well the Bible teaches that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. We are all dserving of Hell. There is none righteous no not one says Romans 3:10. The Bible also teaches that the very best a person can do in and of themself is like disease ridden rags to God. To go to Heaven takes God's own righteousness imputed to a person who trusts in Christ for salvation. Everything else falls short.

How good or how bad, and by whose standard? Compared to God's absolute perfection, I don't think anybody could be as perfect as He is.
Read the New Testament again, if you haven't done so in a while and see what that book says. You'll probably find the answer to your question there.

That is the cornerstone ,or gospel of Christianity.
Without Jesus's sacrifice for your sin , you still carry it.
You only go to Heaven if you are forgiven . The only other option is Hell. When you go before the great white throne for judgement it is not on works , but ,faith (in Jesus Christ) that will save you.
Everyone will admit their guilt there , There are no lies spoken there. You will testify and condemn yourself.

NO. The decision one makes with regard to the substitutionary death of Christ on the Cross is what determines whether a person goes to hell, or to heaven.
Its NOT a matter of you and I being good enuff to get into heaven. There is NO ONE that will be in heaven based on THEIR performance, but we will ALL be there if we trust in the performance of Jesus Christ on Calvary. That is how God set it up.
Take Him at His word and allow Him to give you the GIFT of His righteousness, without which NO ONE will enter heaven.

It's either heaven or hell, no other way. You either accept Jesus into your heart, follow the 10 commandments, or you don't.

ALL of us have sinned.
The degree of those sins is relative to Almighty God.
ANY sin and ALL sin are an abomination to Almighty God.
Lying, cheating, or stealing a candy bar will see you spend eternity in The Lake Of Fire just as quickly as mass murder, molestation, and torturing abuse will.
Almighty God knew that with Satan in the world and human nature being what it is, Almighty God knew the only way to save mankind, was for Him to send mankind a perfect, pure, sinless gift that would be an acceptable sacrifice that would cover ALL of mankind's sins.
That is why Almighty God sent Jesus Christ to Earth.
Asking Jesus Christ to forgive us our sins, asking Jesus Christ into our hearts and lives to be our personal Lord and Savior is to ACCEPT Almighty God's precious, priceless free gift sacrifice.
Doing so, is the ONLY thing that will INSURE that we spend eternity in Heaven and the ONLY thing that will INSURE that we do not spend eternity in The Lake Of Fire for eternity.
NOTHING else will save us.
NOTHING else will spare us.
NOTHING else will make us worthy of eternity in Heaven.
Almighty God says, ALL of our good deeds, good works, and good moral lives, & honest/honorable living are as filthy rags in His sight UNLESS we have accepted His purifying gift of Jesus Christ into our lives.
Then and only then will our good deeds, good works, moral and honorable living be worthy and will be rewarded in this life and in Heaven.
Let me simplify it for you.
Well-known people like Billy Graham, Sister Theresa, & Reggie White for all their good works, selfless sacrifices, & good lives would spend eternity in The Lake Of Fire if they had NOT asked Jesus Christ to forgive them their sins, and then asked Jesus Christ to come into their hearts and lives and to be their ONE and ONLY personal Lord and Savior.
There is no such thing as displaced souls. When EVERY person dies, their mortal bodies go into the ground, but their immortal spirits and souls either go directly to Heaven to be with Jesus for eternity or they go to Hell, which is the solitary waiting cell where those who refused to accept Jesus Christ's gift wait for the Great White Throne judgment, where their lives with be replayed before their eyes and then they will be sentenced to eternity in The Lake Of Fire with Satan, The Anti-Christ, The False Prophet, Satan's army of demons forever.

It's not a matter of good enough. Do you want to be with God for all eternity or to be apart from Him? He grants what we really want.

It's not about whether you are good or bad, it's about whether you accept Jesus. If you do, you go to Heaven, if you don't you go to Hell, no exceptions.
