My friend's father past away about a month ago and I want to give her a card for Christmas. But, since this is going to be her first Christmas without her dad, I don't know if it is appropriate or not. Should I or should I not?

Absolutely, it would be a very loving gesture from you. Simply put a message in there that you are aware of her loss for this Holiday season and you are wishing her well, keeping her in your thoughts and prayers.. Encouraging her to keep him alive in her memories... God bless****

Especially if you sent a sympathy card, or expressed sympathy at his passing, it is appropriate to send a Christmas Card now. Do not mention the death in the card, as you have already done that. And also because since she is a Christian, and hopefully the father was also, the mourning is always mixed with joy because the father is now in a new life with Christ.

By all means, send her a card. I'd keep the verse in the card kind of generic, no flowery words or lines like, "May this be the most joyous holiday you'ver ever had". Just something like "Thinking of you at Christmas" will be fine.

OF COURSE IT IS RIGHT!!
Just be sure to write a short, simple note, like,
"I know exactly how you feel and I just want to let you know I'll be thinking of you this Christmas."

Yes, remind her that you are thinking of her at this time of the year and you will be there for her if she needs to talk.
