you are only 13 so u will need to have your mom's help with this. your dry skin is not the problem altho it seems like it.it is only a symptom. you are young to be having dry skin problems. many things effect the skin so the best thing to do is start with your diet.
skin needs vitamin A. it is best to use beta-carotene which turns into vit.A. take it until the palms of you hands turn orangey. u can't overdose on this. next take fish oil capsules, at least 1200 Mg daily.
get 2 jars of Spectrum coconut oil at a health food store ie. Whole foods or Wild oats. one jar is for your skin and the other is for eating. the goal is to get 3-4 tablespoons of oil a day. don't start with that much but work up to it little by little.it doesn't have much taste it just feels weird till you get used to it. squirt a little honey to help if needed. i put it between my bottom lip and teeth,it melts really fast.that's for your inside.
now for the outside. at Walmart by the makeup they sell really ruff bath gloves. soak in the tub and use these gloves to get the dry dead skin off. when at Whole foods getting the oil tell then you want Zum soap. it's made from goats milk which has enzymes closest to human. pat dry and apply a thin coating of coconut oil to your skin. after an hour check your skin again because it will have absorbed it. apply more if needed or gently wipe off if oily feeling. in the morning apply more if needed. do this for a couple weeks. it should clear up or at least improve alot by then. if it hasn't then see a doctor.

Sweetie first of all do not use the Ivory soap on your face. It sounds as if you are having dermatitis and any type of soap will dry it out. Try these Neutrogena products for your skin, and it will greatly help it. I have problems because of allergies, and my skin becomes overly dry also. I promise, these will greatly help the problem. Scroll down on this link and look at the Neutrogena Foaming Cleanser and moisturizer. You should use both twice daily.
You should also try taking an allergy table like Clariten to help with the allergies. I have them badly this time of year. The little boy I nanny for is having skin problems right now also. You could use for one week only, hydrocortisone 1% cream on your skin to help it to heal. It is recommended to exfoliate irritated skin by dermatologists, so I would wait to do that after my skin healed.

You don't need soap to wash your face, you can use vegetable oil. Scrape it off after applying it with something with a firm but soft edge, like a Teflon spatula. Then wipe the remainder off with tissue paper.
If the skin gets flaky and itches a lot, it could be a skin condition that you would need to see a dermatologist about. And Ivory soap is not gentle. Aloe Vera and gel soaps are gentle.

It's probably dry because of winter it's really common DO NOT USE BAR SOAP the skin on your face is different and more sensitive there are moisturizing face washes and stuff and moisturizing face creams that you can put on at night so it isn't that bad in the morning. You might have to try different ones because it's hard to find the right one.

I have the same problem but it happens only after I wash my face in the morning.I always put some light body lotion (mixed with some water )on.
My advice is to put some grated carrots on your face for about 15 min 3 times a week. After that...clean your face gently with warm water because your skin colour will be orange.

have you tried a facial mask??? you can put in on the wash it off. Never scrub your face, use gentle soap - ivory dries the skin. try some almay soap and gently rub into skin...throw water on it to rinse it off and then gently pat the skin dry. then try so facial lotion like oil of olay and do this twice a day (morning and night). good luck

I think your skin is just dry and reacting to the cold dry winter weather.
Try exfoliating with a facial scrub, and putting a super strong moisterizer on your face like Aveeno.

Make sure you wash your face every morning and night with warm water. Try using Clean & Clear it has a nice cleaning product and lotion stuff.
Otherwise go to a dermatologist and they should be able to give you a prescription.
