well, christianity is based upon martyrdom, and i guess they want to be like their lord and saviour, so if no one is "actually" persecuting them, they will point to somewhere else on the planet, somehow forgetting that this is Yahoo! USA

i'd say truthfully no longer. If something, Evangelical, American Christians are those persecuting others. how many cases have we heard with regard to the communities that are out picketing the funerals of our fallen squaddies? how many cases have Evangelical Christian communities banned at the same time to protest the rights and freedoms of others consistent with faith, race and sexual selection? As I suggested, Evangelical American Christians are those doing the persecuting. advantages,

We are persecuted by having your atheist faith forced on us at schools. You can't prove that your big bang is more than a theory any more than I can prove that my beliefs are. You force your egotistical science on us despite being unable to answer the questions we ask.
You twist our laws to take away traditions and beliefs of a nation to further your egos and pride. But that's not necessarily persecution when compared to real persecution that goes on in other parts of the world, it's just an annoyance by fools.

The persecution comes from questions like yours...
So you're saying it's ok for public schools to remove religious anything and promote drug trafficking, violence, sexuality and evolution...but not allow people of all faiths to practice their beliefs???
It's wrong to promote peace, justice, right and wrong using religious symbols on public property using public funds???...better get rid of the U.S. Constitution then...the whole thing is based on religious beliefs...
And why is it ok to display other symbols on public property using tax money like the statue of justice...the national flag...statue of liberty...the seal of public offices...etc...???
If you're going to ban display of the ten commandments on public property...ban anything that dictates how people should treat each other and believe...

I once met a Christian who stated that "If you question a Christian, you question the Bible and if you question the Bible, you question God, so you are persecuting all by questioning."
This was the same person who said that dinosaur fossils were left by Satan to confuse us and question God and His divine will.
I will admit that Christians are killed the world over for their faith, but I must ask what is the tipping point from professing your faith to openly converting the "heathens".

I don't complain about anything in regards to being persecuted for my faith.
1 Peter 4:13 But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. 14 If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.

Well, I just got on here this morning, and it looks you guys are off to a good start. No, Christians are actually being persecuted in other parts of the world. Did you really not know that, or are you just trying to prove a point?

I'm not, but Christians are being persecuted (killed) in the middle east, and many were killed in Russia.
