~since you have tried all of your credit cards, it does not sound like a credit card issue. sounds to me like the company you are trying to make a purchase with, may be offline, (not communicating with their host). that would be one of the only reasons that you would get that message. try again later.

I'm a little confused. Do you have a brand new credit card that you have never used that you are trying to verify? Are you trying to make a purchase on-line? Are you using a credit card that you have used many times before? If so, have you paid your bills to the credit card company? Have you moved recently?

If you are trying to make a purchase on-line, use a card that you know is good. If it doesn't work, double check your name, your number, the expiration date, etc.

Call the credit card company and let them know your problem. There is a chance you might have a restriction on your card that only allows a certain about of activity per week on it, or else it red flags and says invalid. It happened to me before and they change it for me. It's a security issue.

Call the Credit Card company. It can be hacked, Used by somewhere else or you might have missed a payment. That is if your having the transaction in the ineternet. If it were stopped in real, it could be that the magnetic chip is malfunctioning.

It depends on kind of credit card. Search for CVV number -- usually its 4 digits for a American express card and 3 digits for Visa/MasterCard.
