I am not trying to be judgmental or criticize anyone for their questions or the things that they are going through in their lives, and I've asked plenty of questions that some might not have an answer for, but honestly, questions like "When a girl looks at you, does that mean she likes you?" or "Does this mean he wants me back"? "If a guy slaps you on the shoulder, does that mean that he wants to date you?" "If he picked up my pencil, does that mean he likes me?" It's starting to get annoying as hell! Not because people ask, because they honestly expect you to give you their take on what someone we've never met, is feeling and it's impossible. Nobody can speak for all men or women everywhere and all people are different in their own unique way.

Why don't people ever come out and ask, the person exactly what they want to ask them, instead of sh!tload of strangers who have never met whoever it is that they like? I guess I'm more of a straightforward person, but what do you think?

Because some people are new to the dating scene. You have to remember that several of the people on here are teenagers. You can just tell by the way the spell and the slang that they use. They are young and do not know why things are happening.

Some people simply do not have the confidence or experience to find out why things happen the way they do for themselves.

And some people are here simply to kill boredom.

I think a lot of people come on here and ask questions because if they were to ask any of their friends and/or family members the same question(s) they might fear that they'll be ridiculed and that no one will give them a straight and honest answer.
So what a better way to get brutal honest answers than from strangers? It does make sense if you think about it, I mean none of us know everyone on here...so we can't really use the persons character/past to judge them when attempting to give them the answers they want.
Thus, it's easier for the asker to ask the question w/o the same type of fear of being ridiculed than to ask his/her friends or family the same things.
Besides like I said, a lot of people simply don't want to ask close friends and family these questions because sometimes the questions they ask are somewhat "personal" and they don't want anyone they know to know about it.
Also were all pretty anonymous on here, so even if the asker does get ridiculed or laughed at etc. then it's "ok" because all those people don't know who that person is.
In turn, eliminating the embarassment part to an extent.

I think that's why.

It's easier to talk to a stranger online whom you are not face to face with then the person themselves to see if they like you. Rejection is what is most feared by people even more feared than death. Plus people who you have never met will give you an answer straight out instead of your family and friends who will take your feelings into account and won't want to hurt you. If you don't like it then stop reading the questions. There are no stupid questions in life and if someone feels they will get an answer from someone as to what a certain situation meant then it can't hurt to try.

These people already hope in their mind that these small acts mean something different. They post their questions in hopes that someone will agree with them. It's like a shot of confidence online. That's all...just simple reassurance that they aren't totally reading into something the wrong way.

Sometimes we already know the answer, but sometimes we need to hear it from someone else. It's like validation, everyone needs to know they are on the right track.

Sounds like democracy to me; getting the majority's thumbs up, or thumbs down, to make life changing decisions.
Like seeking council.

well it's nice to get different perspectives from strangers. especially people you don't know. your friends might say "oh sweetie you're so much better than him" where as strangers wouldn't give a crap. they'll be more blunt about it.

for their satisfaction....some people cant share their feelings with the people around....so those people come here and ask such questions....if you are interested... answer it.
if not.... just move on.....what say???!!!

Because they are childish and not brave enough to ask a real life person what they think.
This does get annoying.
