The bible clearly states the penalty is death. Why aren't Christians up in arms about gays being allowed to walk around and breathe air freely? It seems they have capitulated considering all they talk about is gay marriage. Will a true Christian please explain?

If we aren't to judge, then why pass laws banning gays from marriage?

1. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odour for the Lord (Lev. 1:9). The problem is my neighbours. They claim the odour is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev.15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell ? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
4. Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighbouring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
5. I have a neighbour who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?
6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev. 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?
7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some room for negotiation here?
8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27. How should they die?
9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if wear gloves?
10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Lev.24:10-16) Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

The Bible is outdated and written by mortal men. We have different customs and morals nowadays.

I don't think you are reading that (I suppose you are referring to Romans 1:26-27) the way it was meant to be understood by its author, the Apostle Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. He's not saying that those who commit gay behaviors are to receive the death penalty, handed down by some civil authority figure. No, he's saying that just as with all the other umteen thousand ways we sin (i.e., go on to read verse 28-32 in chapter 1), there are consequences, in this life, as well as the next. And, living a life not in an intimate relationship with God our Creator, due to our rejecting Him (i.e., see verses 18 to 25), will automatically lead one to violating His will for our lives in some fashion, as in the many ways mentioned in the list in verses 26 through 32. This is living in a state of death, being separated from Him, since God is the sopurce of all life. This is what the Romans passage actually means.

Now, if you know for a fact that certain Christians are actually telling you that gays have no right to live, then they are very misled Christians (like Fred Phelps' cult of hatred), whom eggregiously forgot that they were forgiven from their own sins. And because of this, they must forgive others for theirs against God too. (Ephesians 4:32) How could they dare do anything other?

Us Christians are also to see ourselves as beggars (as good as dead in life), just like anyone else, but the only difference now is that we've got the bread (the living bread, Jesus Christ) and have been eating daily, and now we are wanting to share it with others so they could come alive and thrive too!

You are mistaken. ONLY the holiness code of Liviticus speaks of the death penalty for SOME homosexual acts. Of course if you wish to take this to mean that gay people should be killed then you also need to kill children who talk back to their parents. This also requires death according to Liviticus.

Romans clearly states that being allowed to fall into the perversions such as gay sex is a RESULT OF ALREADY ABANDONING GOD.

The writer clearly thought that this kind behavior was a PUNISHMENT

He had NO CONCEPTof homosexuality as we understand it today. Thus the Bible can teach us nothing on this subject directly

But it DOES say to love your neighbor as yourself.
How about loving your gay neighbor? Does this mean we kill him?

First of all we are not in Rome and we are not the ones to judge,i think you missed the point though the bible is talking about a spiritual death not a physical death.God has given all free will to do as you want thats your choice, but as i said most death being talked about in the bible is spiritual death and you get to choose.God loves all of his children he may not like what they are doing but he loves them all.As far as Hell there taking reservations you choose .Smoking or non Smoking its a one time thing before you decide.God bless

It also speaks about "other sins as well", and every one of them have been around before "you" were born...you really need to get off your "high horse" and see the "big picture" Gods' plan...not "yours", what he thinks is on scedule, not what "you think you should do about it" taking care of your own Salvation is more important than going off on some crusade against some "pet sin" "Your job" is to pray for, and grow in the Lord...let your light shine...and edify the Church..now, you go and set in your "pew" and be a good boy and learn something or i will have to ask the lord to take you down a peg or two... "Peace!"

Like this in Romans. That we shouldn't JUDGE>
Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. 2 And we know that the judgment of God rightly falls upon those who practice such things. 3 But do you suppose this, O man, when you pass judgment on those who practice such things and do the same yourself, that you will escape the judgment of God? 4 Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance? 5 But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who WILL RENDER TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS: 7 to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life; 8 but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation. 9 There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek, 10 but glory and honor and peace to everyone who does good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 11 For there is no partiality with God.

Because some Christians are blessed with intelligence.

A "true Christian" will use the buy-bull as justification to spread hate, bigotry, and ignorance, just as you have.

I prefer intelligent christians who are capable of independent thought, not ignorant sheeple.

The penalty for any sin is death but God is the only one who can carry out the sentence. We can avoid this spiritual death by accepting Christ.

Would you please explain what Bible you're readng? Romans says no such thing. Homosexuality is mentioned in Romans 1 and it is said that they will recieve in themselves due penalty for their perversions. That could be interpreted as an explanation for AIDS, but not that we should kill them. Quit posting untruths.
